Victoria Peak Partners is led by Terrance Philips and Marc Rucinski who have 45 years of collective experience in alternative investments and financial leadership in the U.S., Middle East and Asia at premier global institutions including Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, Silicon Valley Bank, and Credit Suisse. As former senior members of Citibank’s alternative leadership team, Terrance and Marc also co-founded Citibank’s Asia Alternative Investment and lending businesses and in less than a decade, drove the direct origination of over US$3 billion in equity and debt investments from ultra-high net worth clients and institutions worldwide and US$8 billion in lending commitments to industry-leading global alternative investment managers.
The Victoria Peak name refers to the tallest hill on Hong Kong Island where Terrance and Marc first met while working at Citibank. Victoria Peak Partners is named after the summit reflecting not only the lineage of the team but acknowledgment of the history of Hong Kong as one of the leading financial centers of the world known for bringing together global capital to established and new markets alike. With over seven million visitors a year, Victoria Peak is a major tourist attraction offering views of Central, Victoria Harbour, Lamma Island and the surrounding islands.

Terrance is a senior banker and private equity lending professional of leading global financial institutions. Specialist in building institutional brands, developing coverage teams with a focus on serving private capital from within a broader financial institution. Terrance executed over $30 billion in private equity credit transactions. As a senior team member at Citi Private Bank that established and developed Citi Private Bank’s Asia coverage of private equity firms and Financial Professionals Segmentation, including private equity, hedge fund and traditional asset managers. Founding team member of Silicon Valley Bank’s strategic arm for global development “SVB Global”. Delivered leadership to the firm’s global banking ambitions in the emerging markets through relationship development, deal sourcing and contributed to corporate development in the emerging markets. Excels in collaboration across business units and delivering products and services to demanding clients from complex platforms with inherent inefficiencies.
Terrance is also the author of Planet VC. Planet VC provides readers a roadmap for understanding the financial, political, and economic framework of global innovation from its Silicon Valley origins through its evolution into new markets and countries globally. The book provides this through the lens of Silicon Valley venture capitalists and industry leaders via their own experiences and deals while setting the stage for the industry’s direction for the years to come.

He is a specialist in sourcing, negotiating, and structuring real estate and private equity funds, joint ventures, co-investments, and pledge/club investments and marketing to ultra-high net worth individuals and institutional investors. Over his career, Marc has executed over $45 billion in private equity and real estate transactions. As a senior team member in Citi Private Bank’s alternatives division, he helped establish and develop the bank’s global alternative investments platform and later directly led the reformation of a Hong Kong origination, diligence, and asset management office. Most recently he developed and implemented a strategic expansion plan into new geographic regions and products and established new GP and LP relationships at Trinity Investments and Civitas Capital. Marc also previously worked as a management consultant for various clients globally at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).

Marc is an experienced private equity and real estate capital markets professional from leading global financial institutions. He is a specialist in sourcing, negotiating, and structuring real estate and private equity funds, joint ventures, co-investments, and pledge/club investments and marketing to ultra-high net worth individuals and institutional investors. Over his career, Marc has executed over $45 billion in private equity and real estate transactions. As a senior team member in Citi Private Bank’s alternatives division, he helped establish and develop the bank’s global alternative investments platform and later directly led the reformation of a Hong Kong origination, diligence, and asset management office. Most recently he developed and implemented a strategic expansion plan into new geographic regions and products and established new GP and LP relationships at Trinity Investments and Civitas Capital. Adam has built a career out of developing and leading sophisticated financial institutions. As Co-Founder and COO of Jewel Bancorp, he launched a digitally native bank and the first bank licensee approved in Bermuda in over 40 years. Adam founded and led as President both Square 1 Asset Management and SVB Asset Management, growing both from inception to $15B in assets under management. A record of leadership in capital markets for venture capital backed firms, Adam has been recognized in national media for his track record of safe capital investment leadership for the past 25 years.
